Meet Our Founder: Nina Jackson
Royal Independent Living was born from a deeply personal mission. Founder Nina Jackson witnessed firsthand the challenges that seniors and vulnerable adults face when safe, stable housing is out of reach. After years of working in community-based services across Metro Detroit, Nina recognized a critical gap: there were thousands of seniors who didn't need medical care, but couldn't safely live alone — and had nowhere to turn.
In response, Nina founded Royal Independent Living, LLC to provide what she calls "dignity-centered housing" — a safe, fully supported home environment where seniors can live independently with the daily support they need to thrive. Her vision is simple: every person, regardless of their circumstances, deserves a stable home and a community that cares.

Co-Founder
Meet our Co-Founder- Renee
Renee brings more than 11 years of hands‑on experience in group home care, supporting adults with compassion, patience, and consistency. Her work in direct care has shaped her belief that every person deserves dignity, autonomy, and a safe place to call home.
As Co‑Founder of Royal Independent Living, Renee helps create a warm, resident‑centered environment where seniors, veterans, and individuals with disabilities can thrive with the right balance of independence and support. She understands the daily realities residents face and the trust families place in caregivers, and she brings that understanding into every aspect of the home.
Grounded in service and community, Renee is committed to building a home that reflects compassion, integrity, and genuine respect for every resident.
Our Mission
To provide safe, stable, and compassionate independent living for seniors, veterans, and adults with disabilities in Metro Detroit — empowering residents to live with dignity, purpose, and community connection.
Our Vision
A Metro Detroit where no senior is homeless, forgotten, or forced to live in unsafe conditions. We envision a community where every older adult has access to stable housing, daily support, and the respect they deserve.

Who We Serve
Royal Independent Living serves adults aged 55 and older who need non-medical supportive housing, including:
Seniors experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity
Individuals transitioning from emergency shelters or temporary housing
Adults facing eviction who need stable placement
Veterans seeking safe, supportive community living
Adults with disabilities who cannot safely live alone but do not require medical care
Seniors referred by case managers, social workers, hospitals, or community organizations
Note: RIL provides non-medical supportive housing. We do not provide skilled nursing, medical treatment, or clinical services. Our focus is on daily living support, safety, and community.
